In an instant, the sky turned bright and dark again.
Xiao Xi had a good sense of direction. She had a good memory on the map. Finding the location of a landmark wasn’t a difficult matter for her.
It was just that now the sky was getting dark again. There was no place to stay nearby. It was a gruesome ancient forest. If she went in like this, she would inevitably encounter some wild animals. It would be bad if she encountered a wolf pack.
Forget it, let’s go in again after dawn!
As Xiao Xi made a decision, she climbed onto an ancient tree. She found a comfortable position on the trunk to prepare sleeping. After she recuperated, she would continue to find Feng Lingran at dawn.
In the middle of the night, a pair of gloomy eyes stared at Xiao Xi as if they were assessing her.
When those gloomy eyes saw that Xiao Xi was probably asleep, they suddenly flew toward Xiao Xi.
The little girl who was supposed to be asleep suddenly opened her eyes. Her small hand form a hand knife and slapped at the “thing” in front of her with internal force.
“Gugugu…”
The gloomy eyes saw that the little girl launched a palm at it, and it was so scared that it flapped its wings in shock, turned around quickly, and climbed to a higher place with its claws.
It turned out to be an owl.
Xiao Xi recognized from its voice that the “bird” in front of her that she couldn’t see clearly was an owl.
Xiao Xi also knew a bit about the legend of owls. Anyway, encountering this thing was not a good thing.
“Gugugu…”
The owl stood high and hooted wickedly at Xiao Xi for a while.
Xiao Xi frowned, folded a branch and threw it towards the owl, trying to get rid of it. The cunning little thing avoided the branch by turning sideways. It hooted at Xiao Xi again. The pair of eyes emitted a scarry glow at night.
Xiao Xi was crept out being watched by the owl. She folded several branches and threw them toward the owl again, but she still failed to drive it away.
“Gugugu…”
The owl evaded several times, and its hoot also became lower. It wasn’t as scary as it first hooted.
Xiao Xi glared at the owl and simply ignored it. Since entering the underground palace and meeting Nu Er, her courage was also boosted. She could sleep with a red corpse for a few days in the coffin. Would she still be afraid of a little owl?
Upon realizing it was already dawn, the owl never bothered Xiao Xi again.
When Xiao Xi woke up, she saw fresh fruit hanging on the trunk around her. She looked at the owl. Did it pick it?
The owl’s feathers were similar to that of the Plymouth Rock chicken. The eyes were yellow-black and shiny, but… the owl’s ears seemed to stand upright.
Xiao Xi went down from the tree and didn’t take those fruits. Since she started cultivating, her hunger had diminished. Therefore, it was fine if she didn’t eat anything. Besides, she didn’t know about this fruit. Who knows if they are poisonous?
Xiao Xi walked about 100 meters away, stopped, and turned to look at the owl walking behind her. Xiao Xi was also annoyed. Why does this owl follow her?
“Little brat, can you don’t follow me?”
Xiao Xi couldn’t help saying.
“Gugugu…” The owl seemed to respond to Xiao Xi. The hoot sounded scary at night, but it was not scary during the day, and it even sounded like a hen’s cackle.
“Don’t follow me again.”
Xiao Xi squatted on the ground, picked up a stone, and pretended to throw at it.
It was not a good thing for the owl to follow someone. She came to Feng Lingran, so she did not want anything bad to happen.
The owl was not afraid of the stone in Xiao Xi’s hands. If she really threw it, it could avoid it dexterously.
Xiao Xi couldn’t get rid of the owl. In the end, she could only let this owl follow her.
It took about an hour.
A figure appeared in the eyes of Xiao Xi. It was Wan Qiyu.
Xiao Xi’s heart was filled with joy. and he raised his hand and shouted, “Wan Qiyu; Wan Qiyu.”
Wan Qiyu heard a familiar voice, turned her head, and saw Xiao Xi waving at him. He frowned and shouted, “Leave this place quickly, it’s dangerous here.”
What?
Xiao Xi looked around and saw no danger. She looked at Wan Qiyu again and found that Wan Qiyu’s left hand was covering his lower abdomen, and a bright red liquid was flowing out of his fingers.
Wan Qiyu is injured?
Xiao Xi quickly walked toward Wan Qiyu. Her pace was faster than before. She didn’t know how fast she was exactly, but it was like the speed of teleportation.
“Wan Qiyu, your lower abdomen is hurt?”
Wan Qiyu looked down at the little girl in front of her and frowned. “Didn’t I ask you to leave this place quickly? Why don’t you listen to me? Where is Miss Nu Er? Why isn’t she by your side?”
Xiao Xi smiled and said, “Wan Qiyu, I usually don’t think you are a good person, but I didn’t expect that you actually care about me!”
Wan Qiyu’s mouth twitched slightly, “Who cares about you? You girl don’t flatter yourself anymore.”
Xiao Xi said with a smile again, “Wan Qiyu, you are a strange person! Sometimes, I think you are very bad, causing mischief between me and Feng Lingran. Sometimes, I think you are good, thinking about your friends everywhere.”
Wan Qiyu looked at Xiao Xi’s cute smile. Yes! I’m is very bad. This little fox doesn’t know that I even want to kill her to use her blood cure the cold blight of Feng Lingran.
No friend could compare with Feng Lingran. There was only one Feng Lingran, and he could do anything to anyone for Feng Lingran.
Wan Qiyu’s eyes flickered. Suddenly, his right palm rested on Xiao Xi’s tender shoulders, and his smile was dissolute, “Little fox, now you only find that I’m good? Why don’t you abandon Feng Lingran and follow me! I still have a lot of beauties; I’m much more interesting than Feng Lingran.”
Xiao Xi had goosebumps all over her body for a while. She pushed away Wan Qiyu’s hand, “Why do I feel that you are ruining Feng Lingran’s relationship blatantly? Do you have some kind of shady purpose?”
Wan Qiyu was a little guilty, but his face was normal. The smile of his mouth was dissolute, “Xi’er, are you questioning my sincerity again?”
“Gugugu…”
Wan Qiyu turned his head and saw little brat calling him on the ground. He was shocked and said in a stutter, “Little fox, this… this… the Eurasian eagle-owl [1]… did you bring it here?”
“Eurasian eagle-owl?” Xiao Xi glanced at the owl on the ground. “It follows me by itself, isn’t it an owl? Why is it an eagle owl?”
What is the Eurasian eagle-owl again?
Wan Qiyu’s mouth twitched fiercely, “Little fox, you actually regard the eagle owl as a kind of evil creature? The eagle owl is a holy creature of Kyushu City.”
Holy creature?
Xiao Xi opened her mouth slightly and looked at the eagle owl in front of her. The glow from the yellow and black eyes seems to be too sharp, but its cry was very similar to an owl right!
However, the next moment, Wan Qiyu’s voice broke Xiao Xi’s fantasy.
“Although the eagle owl is a holy creature, it might not be a good thing to be targeted by it. Little fox, run quickly.”
Wan Qiyu shoved Xiao Xi and let her go. The blood in his abdomen was more flowing from his fingers.
Xiao Xi stumbled and almost fell, but she didn’t leave.
“I’m here to find Feng Lingran. I can’t go without seeing him.”
The wound on Wan Qiyu’s lower abdomen hurt. While staring at the eagle owl alertly, he also worried about Xiao Xi, “Lingran’s martial arts are very powerful, he will be fine. You will only cause trouble for him.”
Xiao Xi pouted her lips. Who said that I will only cause trouble to Feng Lingran? Didn’t I also know some martial arts now?
Xiao Xi ignored Wan Qiyu. The map was engraved in her mind already. She knew exactly where Feng Lingran was, and she did not need Wan Qiyu.
“Xiao Xi, where are you going?”
“Find Feng Lingran.”
Wan Qiyu looked at the direction where Xiao Xi was leaving, which was the direction where Feng Lingran was. He was startled, and doubts flashed in his eyes. How could that little fox know Feng Lingran’s whereabouts so clearly?
“You can’t go.”
As Xiao Xi left, the Eurasian eagle-owl also followed her and left.
The blood spilled from Wan Qiyu’s fingers dripped on the ground. He frowned tightly. He quickened his pace with a pale face, blocking in front of Xiao Xi.
“It’s dangerous there. You don’t cause more trouble for him.”
“I won’t trouble him.”
Xiao Xi’s voice was very calm. It was unlike a 10-year-old child’s voice.
Wan Qiyu looked at the little girl with only his waist height. At this moment, it seemed that something had changed, and she had also changed.
A slight rustle came from the ground as if a snake was crawling on the ground.
Wan Qiyu’s face changed, grabbing Xiao Xi’s arm, “Xiao Xi, leave with me now.”
Before Xiao Xi shook away Wan Qiyu’s hand, she saw that the blood in Wan Qiyu’s abdomen was flowing out. She looked at his wound in shock. It was a small hole. What had pierced through Wan Qiyu’s abdomen?
Xiao Xi was dragged by Wan Qiyu in high speed. Blood kept dripping on the ground, forming a blood path. She exclaimed, “Wan Qiyu, your wound is too deep. If it’s not treated in time, you will be killed.”
Wan Qiyu’s forehead had cold sweats. He said, “Little fox, if I’m dead, I will still protect your life.”
“Wan Qiyu…”
There was a pale smile in Wan Qiyu’s mouth, “Little fox, I’m casual and elegant, and I have extraordinary temperament; I have nothing to care about in this world. Only Feng Lingran, he is my brother and my only concern. If I die here unfortunately, little fox, you promised me to suppress the cold blight in his body. If you can’t suppress it, he may not live for more than three years.”
Can’t live for more than three years?
Xiao Xi’s heart shook hard as if there was something tightly clutching her heart. She felt so uncomfortable.
She never knew that Feng Lingran’s cold blight was so serious.
“Wan Qiyu, are you leaving your last words?” Xiao Xi’s small hand suddenly grabbed Wan Qiyu’s wrist, and she no longer ran with him. She stopped him, raised her trembling eyelashes, and looked at Wan Qiyu’s extremely weak pale face. She said again, “I’m not a miracle-working doctor; I’m not as capable as you. The cold blight on Feng Lingran still needs you to completely cure it. So, you must be alive.”
Xiao Xi’s little hand gradually loosened Wan Qiyu’s arm, turned around, and saw that the rusty trees and vines on the ground stretched like a monster. A trace of determination flashed in her eyes.
Wan Qiyu looked at Xiao Xi’s weak figure, standing firmly in front of him. Those trees and vines were getting closer and closer to Xiao Xi. In an instant, Wan Qiyu seemed to know what the little girl in front of him wanted to do. He shouted in shock, “Your blood is Feng Lingran’s only cure. I don’t allow your blood to be sucked by this vine demon.”
