Facing Lild’s magician etiquette, Chen Rui bowed, immediately showing the true character of a layman, but Zola tilted her head slightly and bowed back. However, this kind of bow was not for the same level, but for the younger level, which stunned Lild.
Before the Sir Saint Magician could react, Chen Rui said, “I’m sorry, we still have something to do, so we can’t stay here too long. We will visit Sir Lild next time.”
Judging from the expression of the female clerk on the side, she was utterly in disbelief— This man and woman are so ignorant that they refused Sir Lild’s invitation!
Lild frowned and glanced at the 2 people who seemed to be light-hearted as though they seemed to really not care about his invitation. After thinking for a while, he asked, “You 2 should be from other places. May I boldly ask where are you going?”
“We’re going to the green gem plaza.” Proyo set the meeting place to be the Sleeping Rose VIP Inn in the city. When Chen Rui entered the city, he had already found out that the inn was located in the green gem plaza area, so this answer was not entirely perfunctory.
“Since the 2 of you have important things to do, I won’t hold you back… It just so happens that I want to go in that direction. Why don’t we go the same way? Just now, I still have some questions about the ‘cloud chain’, so I can also ask the 2 of you for advice.”
Chen Rui thought about it for a while before he agreed. Since her man said so, Madam Zola naturally had no opinion.
The 3 of them walked toward the green gem plaza together. Magicians were too common in this magician city. Lild was usually low-profile, and his magician was also very inconspicuous. Except for some high-level and familiar magic shop staff, very few people know him. The 3 did not attract any special attention along the way.
Lild asked a lot of questions along the way. Not only pertaining to the ‘cloud chain’, but also the problems he usually encountered in the magic circle aspect. Although the previous 2 questions gave Zola a little inspiration, the latter questions were too simple for the fairy dragon, so she had no patience to answer anymore. She immediately blinked at her man, then she looked around and continued to look for inspiration.
In desperation, Chen Rui had no choice but to take over the teacher’s role and answer for her. This answer surprised Lild again. The problem that had been bothering him for more than 10 years was actually solved. He originally thought that the woman was a master of magic circle, but he never thought that the level of magic circle displayed by this ‘Arthur’ was not under that woman at all. At least, Chen Rui was far better than him!
Lild then asked a few questions about magic, which Chen Rui could not answer. After Lild linked it to the nondescript etiquette just now, he confirmed his guess even more – ‘Arthur’ is proficient in magic circle, and that ‘Zola’ should be a magician. Her knowledge of magic circles is likely to be taught by her husband. ‘Zola’ hid her strength, and the reason why she returned the bow like that is because I didn’t reveal my Saint’s breath, so ‘Zola’ thought she was stronger than me.
The Saint magician’s imagination was very rich, and there were several guesses that matched. Unfortunately, what he didn’t know was that the most critical parts were all wrong.
In the crowd, 2 men and 1 woman continued to walk forward. Zola was looking around while Lild kept talking to Chen Rui. ‘Next visit’ was probably a courteous word. Although magic circle was only a minor subject as Lild was majoring in magic, it was rare to encounter such a master-level magic circle researcher, so naturally he had to take the time to ask some questions.
As they were walking, there was a sudden commotion in front of them as if someone was fighting.
The 3 of them stepped forward and saw that some people were ganking up on a young man. The man was a magician who was casting 2 magic shields to protect himself and the 2 girls behind him. 1 of the 2 girls was about 17 years old while the other was only about 10 years old.
The young men were surrounded by a few melee combatants with long swords, and 2 magicians were waiting for the opportunity behind them.
The man obviously couldn’t hold it anymore. It was only a matter of time before the magic shields collapsed.
“Isn’t that Caldilla from the Old Romong family? Why did he mess with those guys after coming back from Starlight College?”
“You don’t know yet? It was Viswo of the Mogaus Family who took a fancy to his fiancée, Tess, and Tess’ sister Kili. He plotted Tess’ father, so the poor little clerk Pabo owes a lot of gambling debts. He eventually went bankrupt and committed suicide. Viswo was trying to take away Tess and her sister in the name of debt collection when Caldilla happened to come back for holiday…”
“Viswo, you animal. Kili is still so young…”
“Lower your volume! Don’t let those guys hear you!”
“…”
Chen Rui and Zola’s ears were so sharp that they had already learned the whole story from the whispers around. Zola’s eyes flashed a murderous intent. When she was about to make a move, Chen Rui grabbed her
“Sir Lild, I have long admired the name of magician city, but I didn’t expect to encounter such a thing. Those 2 girls… I want to help them. Before that, I would like to ask, is the Mogaus Family very influential?”
“The Mogaus Family is 1 of the 2 major business families in Jaqda, so they are quite powerful. I heard that Viswo seems to have held some positions in the city. I don’t remember the specifics…” Lild’s face turned ugly. “These guys are too outrageous. You 2 don’t need to meddle in this kind of trivial matter; let me solve it. Don’t let these scumbags disturb our conversation.”
With that said, Lild strode over, and the person in front seemed to be repelled by an intangible force.
At this time, Caldilla’s magic shields finally collapsed. The young magician’s face turned pale. He could no longer condense magic power immediately. He was about to be stabbed by a long sword from a guy who rushed up.
The long sword suddenly froze and turned red as if it had been burned red. The sword holder’s palm showed scorched marks, and the long sword fell to the ground with a ‘ding’. He was shouting in pain. The same was true for the weapons of the people behind.
These guys were all taken aback. Looking at Lild who was walking into the arena, the 2 magicians saw that the other party’s strength was extraordinary, so they didn’t dare to act rashly. He shouted, “Who are you? How dare you meddle in the Mogaus Family’s matters?!”
“Get lost!” Lild didn’t bother to talk nonsense with these people. With a wave of his hand, the 2 magicians and the swordsmen flew back upside down as if being hit by an intangible giant punch while the nearby people were not affected by the intangible power at all. This blow showed subtle magic control, but it was still insignificant in Zola’s eyes, but the 2 magicians were frightened.
“These 2 chicks were demanded by Sir Viswo. You damned thing, how dare you…”
Before he could finish speaking, Lild waved his hand in the air again, and 5 more finger marks appeared on the man’s face. His teeth fell to the ground, and he had passed out. No one dared to say a word anymore. They just escaped with their accomplices in despair.
The young man Caldilla helped the 2 girls up to thank him. Lild shook his head and said it was nothing. Chen Rui praised, “Sir Lild’s strength and righteous deeds are really amazing. It’s an honor to meet sir, but I’m afraid those people will not give up and bring endless troubles to these 3 children.”
Lild glanced at the 3 of them and frowned. Just as he was about to speak, Zola said, “There is something wrong with the compression structure of the magic punch just now. Not only does it consume too much magic power, but when it compresses or increases its power further, there will also be a chance of elements collapsing, which is easy to cause an explosion that will hurt yourself.”
Lild was shocked. There was an incredible look in his eyes. This woman actually saw through the compression magic that he was most proud of, and she also revealed the flaws in the magic – The danger of that kind of explosion did exist. At one point, Lild himself was seriously injured.
In fact, Ms. Fairy Dragon pointed out Lild’s key problems since he gave her 2 small inspirations before, so it was considered to be reciprocating. Otherwise, she wouldn’t bother wasting her words.
Even so, Lild was shocked.
“Madam Zola, how can I solve this problem?” Lild asked cautiously, obviously placing the other party at the same height as himself on peak stage Saint.
‘Madam’ Zola blinked and said a few words casually. Although these words were simple, they hit on the key points, giving him a wake-up call.
Lild listened to every word attentively. The more he thought about it, the more feasible it became. He couldn’t help but stop walking as he fell into comprehension and contemplation.
Chen Rui didn’t interrupt Lild. He took Zola’s hand and asked Caldilla and the 2 sisters to lead the way to the green gem plaza. Caldilla got Lild’s help just now and saw Lild’s strength, and Chen Rui was obviously friends with Lild. After some thought, he agreed to it.
After walking for a while, a large group of people suddenly came here from behind. Caldilla and the 2 sisters expressed their horror. Chen Rui gave the 3 of them a determined smile, indicating that it was okay.
The group of men and horses had already caught up. The pedestrians along the way avoided them. These people wore standard leather armor, armed with weapons, and a group of people rode on horses. They actually looked like a regular army. They quickly surrounded the 5 of them.
“Sir Viswo, it’s them!” The one who identified them was 1 of the swordsmen who had been taught a lesson by Lild. After searching for a long time, he couldn’t see Lild’s shadow, so he simply pointed at Chen Rui and Zola and said, “It’s these 2 people who injured us!”
It turned out that the leader on the horse was the mastermind Viswo who was born with a sinister appearance. He looked at Chen Rui and Zola for a while. When he saw the calm appearance of the 2, he secretly thought in his mind and asked tentatively, “Who are you guys? How dare you hinder the city guards from catching fugitives!”
Tess exclaimed angrily, “We are not fugitives! You plotted my father leading to him committing suicide. Furthermore, I have sold all the property back to you for those debts!”
Viswo took out a contract, shook it, and sneered, “The contract signed by your father clearly states that you have to pay back 10 times the money! Since you can’t pay them now, you can only pay off the debt by selling yourself!”
When Zola snorted, the contract actually burned itself up. Viswo was so frightened that he swayed his hands. The contract turned into ashes in the blink of an eye. Chen Rui cheered, “This… Sir Viswo, what a magical fire magic!”
There was a burst of laughter from the onlookers. Viswo did not expect such a thing to happen. He was furious and waved his hand, “Arrest them all! If they dare to resist, except those 2 chicks, kill the rest!”
Caldilla clenched his wand tightly with a pale facial expression as he stood in front of the 2 sisters and began to chant a spell silently.
“Why in every novel… um, every map, there is a villain like you? It’s clearly meant to be trampled to make the protagonist look outstanding.” Chen Rui sighed and said to Zola, “Dear heroine, it’s your show now.”
“Oh…” Zola replied with a smile. Apparently, the title ‘Dear heroine’ was quite useful.

“Lild was usually low-profile, and his magician was also very inconspicuous.”
What was inconspicuous? His magician robe, perhaps?
Or is it robes, not a robe?
