A drop of dew dropped from the leaves onto his face. Lying flat under a tree, Tang Yin’s eyelids twitched slightly as he woke up leisurely.
Not sure why he was having a severe headache. It was like countless of steel needles had grown in his head and was poking in all directions.
He snorted in pain and raised his hand to rub his forehead with force. Only after a long while did he feel a little stronger. He opened his eyes slowly and evaluated the surroundings. His eyes grew bigger as he looked. Finally, he stood up unknowingly and looked at the dense woods around him blankly.
If I remember it correctly, I obviously stayed in a hotel. Why am I in the woods suddenly?
Not knowing what situation this was, Tang Yin’s frowned hardly. It seemed that it wasn’t possible for someone to have moved him here secretly while he was sleeping. The first reason being no one would do such a thing, and secondly, no one would be able to do this. Even during his sleep, he was still extremely alert. No one could come close to him without making the slightest sound.
As he was pondering, a sudden mountain breeze came from the woods. Tang Yin shivered, and a layer of goosebumps covered his body. He tilted his head downward and his face turned red instantly. It appeared that he was naked and didn’t have an inch of clothing. His clothes had actually gone missing.
What is going on here? I’ve really encountered a ghost! Tang Yin’s body went weak and he leaned onto an old tree next to him. He closed his eyes to recall silently what exactly had happened last night.
He was drinking in the disco bar, a girl came to flirt. Then, four little hooligans came over to find fault with him. He didn’t care then, and later killed off all the four hooligans in the little alleyway behind the disco bar. He later then sent the unconscious girl to the hospital and returned to the hotel to rest. Yet after he awoke, he was already here. Plus, the clothes he was wearing were all gone. This was indeed too strange.
As he thought, Tang Yin couldn’t help but shook his head and laughed bitterly.
Did an enemy find me? If that’s the case, that person would have long killed him and wouldn’t waste such efforts. Could it be a friendly prank? He didn’t have friends. Strictly speaking, he only had one. And that person wouldn’t prank him like this no matter what. So what exactly happened? Tang Yin couldn’t seem to understand no matter how hard he thought.
“I’ve really encountered a ghost!” Tang Yin muttered to himself. He turned back to look at the old tree behind him and followed to retreat a few steps backward. He rushed forward in a sudden. With both his hands and legs, his active body climbed up to the treetop like a civet cat with just a few steps.
He climbed to a high point with force. With his hand shading his eyes, he lifted his eyes to look at the distance. A vast piece of green entered his eyesight, What a huge forest that seems to have no end, becoming in line with the sky. It was better if he didn’t have a look. After he finished looking, Tang Yin smiled silently. He was now certain that this place was definitely not Chendu as Chengdu didn’t have such a huge primeval forest for sure.
Where is this place?
Tang Yin bit his lip and slid down the tree slowly along the trunk. If he was someone else, he would probably be desperate at this time. There was no life around him, and he couldn’t know why he had come to a huge forest. There was no possibility of him to continue survival at all. Yet Tang Yin was only shocked, there was no sense of fear in his heart.
He had always been hanging around in deep mountains and forests when he was little. The forest was an incredibly familiar place to him. The only difference was that the northeast forests were a lot more difficult than here. Those who had yet to experience having their spit turn into ice before it even hit the ground would not be able to understand. He was already able to survive a northeast forest during the weather of minus forty to fifty degrees Celsius, let alone this place?
However, his usual double-knife was not with him. This indeed made Tang Yin very sad. For a martial artist like him, his weapon was his life. Losing his double knife was equivalent to losing half of his life.
He looked around and picked up a broken tree fork from the ground. He snapped the top part of the branch skillfully and made it into a wooden stick. In an unfamiliar forest, danger could be anywhere. Having a stick could at least be considered as a weapon for self-defense.
He then snapped off the little twigs and weaved them into the shape of a ring. He buckled it under his crotch, covering half of his body.
After he got everything ready, Tang Yin waved the stick and said angrily, “If I find out who did this, I definitely will not spare him!”
He inferred a general direction according to the positioning of the sun; he thought for a little and strode toward the north.
He didn’t know which direction would help him leave this forest the fastest, he relied on his intuition completely.
This forest seemed to have no end. Tang Yin walked from dawn all the way till noon and was still in the forest. He also became increasingly confused. Where did this huge forest come from? This was indeed too hard for him to comprehend. Who would go through such huge efforts just to get me here? His heart had too many questions.
Just as he was about to climb up a tree to reaffirm his direction, he heard a sudden roar from the front. The sound was blur due to the far distance, and was also very low. Tang Yin’s spirit was shaken for a moment. He stunned for a bit and grasped the wooden stick in his hand firmly. He spread his legs and ran quickly toward the direction of the sound.
The closer he got, the clearer the sound became. It was also chaotic. There was the sound of metal colliding, the sound of people shouting, as well as the sound of painful screams…
With too many sounds mixed together, it was too chaotic to differentiate them. This made Tang Yin feel as if he was approaching a huge battlefield. This is ridiculous. Who would battle in a forest? They’re even using cold weapons. It would be even funnier if they are crime syndicates, what are they fighting about in this deserted place?
Gradually, the trees in the forest became more and more sparse and large patches of grass increased. Tang Yin slowed down his pace gradually as he felt that he was approaching the place of chaos. His body had also bent down subconsciously, moving forward with caution.
His attention was focused on the front. His legs went soft in a sudden as he tripped over something soft and mushy. Tang Yin couldn’t maintain his posture and fell onto the ground. He was lucky to have fallen onto the grass and it didn’t hurt at all. He cursed under his breath and crawled back up from the ground. As he looked back, he was shocked. It was apparent that the thing that tripped him over was a person. A person whose body was covered in blood and was lying motionless on the ground.
Tang Yin gasped. He frowned as he stared at that person.
That person was wearing a black gown, there was a leather armor that had been painted with black ink hanging on his chest, and he was wearing marching boots. He was holding a spear in his hand, and on his head was a helmet made of black iron. Just by the looks of his appearance, he didn’t seem to be any different from ancient soldiers.
Are they filming? Tang Yin laughed out loud as he looked around. Sounds of killing filled his ears, but there was no camera to be seen. It was obvious that the camera wasn’t here. Isn’t this actor who’s playing dead a little too dedicated? As he thought, he poked the man with his stick and said, “Get up, brother. Your scene has ended!”
The man continued to lie on the ground and didn’t respond. He was still, he even seemed like he wasn’t breathing. His pale and gray face was really no different from an actual dead person.
Tang Yin raised his eyebrows and retreated his stick slowly. As he saw that the tip of his stick had the man’s bloodstains, he used his finger to touch it. It was sticky, and there was a sweet and foul smell as he bent down to smell it. Tang Yin was experienced and knew immediately that this was real blood. He widened his eyes and leaned closer to the man. He reached out to touch the man’s neck. His body temperature was ice cold, and there was no pulse in his veins at all.
Ah! Tang Yin was shocked. This was really a dead person, not a fake one. If that’s the case, this was not a movie scene, but a real fight! It was just weird, who even wore this kind of clothes nowadays? Tang Yin stood up in a rush. He wanted to pass through the forest to see what was going on outside. He stopped again after taking two steps and looked down to see that he only had a ring of branches covering his body, This was even weirder than the dead man’s dressing.
He sighed and looked back at the corpse on the ground. He walked back and muttered, “Friend, I’m sorry. Your clothes would be more useful on my body than on you!” He took off the corpse’s clothes as he spoke and put them quickly on himself. Tang Yin didn’t know by this time that his life would begin to change completely after he put on these clothes.
Tang Yin had a medium-sized figure. As long as the size of the clothes wasn’t too special, he could basically wear them. Although the slimy blood made Tang Yin feel uncomfortable after putting on the dead man’s clothes, it was still better than being naked. Finally, he picked up the leather armor and weighed it with his hand. It was pretty heavy, and he decided it was best to leave it behind. He then took out the spear from the corpse’s hand and held it in his. If he were to really encounter a dangerous situation, a spear would be a lot more useful than the stick he made earlier.
He had clothes and he had a weapon. Tang Yin looked at the corpse on the ground and laughed wickedly. He then took a deep breath and walked out of the forest staying low.
He pushed away the thick weeds and walked out of the forest. As he tilted his head up to see, he was instantly shocked by the scene in front of him.
