On a secluded mountain range at the south of the Daxuan Kingdom. This place was covered in mist all year, and the spirit here was thin.
In an unnamed mountain; an inconspicuous valley, the mist here seemed to be thicker.
Deep in the valley, there was an 800 square meters stone chamber. Waves of cold air rose up from the ground of the stone chamber, lowering the temperature of the entire room.
In the middle, an expressionless head stood above the fine sand.
The surrounding fine sand was dark red in color. Each of the sand looked very clear. There was black qi slowly flowing in every sand, emitting waves of light. It made the entire stone chamber look strange.
The fine sand only reached the neck. The head with its eyes closed was breathing rhythmically according to the movement of the cold air.
The room was cold, but sweats could be seen on the forehead. As time passed, the face looked struggling as if it was enduring something painful.
For a long time, as the cold air above the stone chamber twisted, a figure jumped out from the dark red sand with a roar.
The upper body of the figure was naked. After burying himself into the dark red sand for a long time, his skin also turned dark red. There was still cold air coming out from his body surface. As he waved his hand, a clear water ball dropped on him, washing away the fine sand on his body.
“4 hours has passed finally. I can start again.”
Liu Ming tilted up his head, breathed out, and flexed his bones and muscles. A clear crackling sound could be heard from the bones and muscles.
Judging from his look, his body was more solid before he entered the valley.
He threw up 1 hand and made a gesture with another hand. 2 orange light balls became blurred and transformed into 2 20 meters tall orange iron ape puppet beasts in the air.
Liu Ming swung his hand again to launch 2 yellow crystal stones into the holes on the puppets’ chest.
With 2 groans, the puppets’ eyes flashed red. They rolled in the air and landed heavily in front of Liu Ming, stirring up sand all around. The ape puppets looked ferocious with their white fang.
Liu Ming swiftly patted the soul recovering bag on his waist. After a flash of black light, Bone Scorpion with bean-sized crimson scales all over its body also appeared.
Without Liu Ming’s command, Bone Scorpion hissed and stood in the middle of the 2 puppet beasts. It shook the snake head on its tail, looking eager to attack.
Seeing this, Liu Ming made a gesture, and black gas rolled out immediately. After feeling a tingling sensation all over him, a layer of grain-sized crimson scales emerged on his skin. The crimson scales quickly enlarged to the size of 2 inches and covered his entire body.
Liu Ming then gripped his hands downward. A burst of black mist rolled out along 2 explosions from the air, and it turned into a black dragon and a black tiger. After a burst of dragon and tiger roar, they shrank back into Liu Ming’s body and kept roaming around his body as if they were alive.
Liu Ming then communicated with Bone Scorpion with his mind.
While using his multitasking talent, he commanded the 2 iron ape puppets to attack.
Bone Scorpion jumped up immediately. Amidst a burst of hissing sound, the snake head blurred and launched countless black shadow attacks on Liu Ming.
After Bone Scorpion survived the heavenly tribulation, it had already advanced to the early stage of the Condensation Period. What more, it had encountered a good opportunity during the tribulation and had devoured a crimson dragon of the Crystallization Period when advancing, so its attack could no longer be defended by the physical body of ordinary Condensation Period cultivator.
Under the blessing of the crimson dragon scales, the Hell Bone Secret and the Dragon Tiger Hell Prison, the defend of Liu Ming’s physical body was far greater than the Condensation Period later stage physique cultivator.
Although Bone Scorpion’s snake head attack was swift, except leaving some white marks and making clanging sounds, it still couldn’t break through his defense. However, Liu Ming also bared his teeth under the attack as if it was unbearable.
At this time, the iron ape puppets also each took out a 20 meters long iron rod and slammed on Liu Ming’s body.
Liu Ming clenched his fists, letting Bone Scorpion and the puppets attack him at will. He groaned from time to time, showing a more painful expression than before. The black dragon and tiger still roamed around his body continuously. Blue veins burst out on his forehead and arms, and he was drenched in sweats.
Except meditating, Liu Ming soaked his body with the spiritual fluid that he blended and buried his body into the dark red sand every day. After that, he summoned Bone Scorpion and the puppets to hit all over his body so that the medicine could completely immerse into his muscles and bones. He kept tempering his body under such an environment full of yin qi. 6 months had passed in a blink of an eye.
This day, Liu Ming once again buried himself in the dark red sand and tempered his body with Bone Scorpion and the puppets, then he went to another room in the valley. He sat cross-legged, made a gesture and immersed into his sea of consciousness.
The black and white Celestial Tablet was still floating there in silence. The silver sand at the bottom of the sandglass was increased by another layer when he left the Savage Ghost Sect.
Without thinking much, Liu Ming started to read the thick black book that recorded the Dragon Tiger Hell Prison.
For these 6 months, he tried to comprehend the 2nd level of the Dragon Tiger Hell Prison every day. Although he didn’t fully comprehend it, the effect of body tempering he got coincided with the descriptions of the book. The progress wasn’t quick. It seemed like to fully master the 2nd level, he needed at least 10 years.
Liu Ming couldn’t help sighing in his mind thinking of this.
He never thought that after mastering the 2nd level of the Dragon Tiger Hell Prison, he could advance to the Condensation Period later stage. Advancing from the intermediate stage to the later stage with just a few years, such a speed couldn’t even be achieved by the talented core disciples of the major sects.
After all, even the talented cultivators who had the Earth Spiritual Pulse or the Sky Spiritual Pulse, they still needed 10 years or more to advance. After all, when facing the bottleneck before advancing, what most cultivators needed wasn’t tough trainings for a long time but an opportunity and luck.
“It seems that I still have to practice this Tiger Dragon Hell Prison, but the spiritual fluid needed to temper body isn’t enough. Since its effect isn’t bad, I can buy more this time.”
Liu Ming thought so, and he stood up without hesitation. He came to the entrance of the cave, flicked his sleeve and released a green light. The green light shook and turned into a green flying boat.
His figure shook, and he stood at the front of the flying boat. After tapping the deck lightly, the flying boat blasted toward the Qinzhou Market in a green light.
“Even with Earth Spiritual Pulse, he can’t be chosen to be 1 of the Six Scions. It seems that although this Yunchuan Continent is just an island at the corner of this world, the hidden talents in it are unimaginable.”
A month later, Liu Ming returned to his cave house.
His trip to the market this time was fruitful. The materials to blend the spiritual fluid for body tempering he bought were enough for him to use for a few years. At the same time, a shocking news had spread throughout the entire market. It was about the selection news of the Six Scions of the Yunchuan Alliance’s Three Saints and Six Scions.
As the Six Scions that would be supported by the sects of the entire continent, the chosen one was not only high in his potential, but his chance to advance to the Crystallization Period was greatly increased. He might even be able to advance to the Pseudo Pellet State or Real Pellet State in the legends.
After all, except for one’s aptitude, efforts in training, and favorable encounters, cultivating resources were also important. Sometimes, it even surpassed the first 3.
The reason many casual cultivators and the cultivators of some families had such a low success rate in initiating spirit was due to a lack of resources. The Bai Family was the best example.
Even if one couldn’t advance to the Pseudo Pellet State or Real Pellet State, as a Crystallization Period powerhouse, after resisting the invasion of the Sea Creature Clan, initiating one’s own sect and becoming famous in the Yunchuan Continent were as easy as pie.
After all, the Crystallization Period powerhouses were a minority in the entire continent.
Since the 3 Saints were chosen from the minority and it had already been decided, the entire continent of course focused their attention on the selection of the Six Scions.
Just like the master of the Savage Ghost Sect and Senior Fellow Apprentice Huang said, Gao Chong as an Earth Spiritual Pulse disciple sent by the Savage Ghost Sect wasn’t selected as the Six Scions. Zhang Xiuniang of the Tianyue Sect and Ye Tianyu, a Sky Spiritual Pulse disciple, of the Yuanmo Sect were chosen; the other 4 people were the talented disciples of other sects.
Although Liu Ming kept an eye on this matter, it didn’t matter much to him with his Three Spiritual Pulse.
For him, tempering body was his top priority now.
After thinking for a while, he sat cross-legged and meditated.
As such, another 6 months had passed.
On this day, when Liu Ming applied several types of body tempering spiritual fluids on him and prepared to bury himself in the dark red sand, a buzz came from a leather bag from his waist.
Thanks for chapter nano desu
Thanks for the chapter CREATIVESTEAMEDBUN! Man I’ve missed this novel.
I noticed you started off where flying lines stopped, rather then where real translator stopped. The flying lines chapters (302-327) were just machine translation instead of actual translation. So hopefully you could backfill those sometime because at the moment those chapters are pretty unreadable.
Thanks for the chapter. A few errors:
You used “Yan Liuming” and “Qiu Liuming” multiple times in this chapter, I think you meant to use just “Liu Ming”?
Thanks for spotting the error! We will fix right away!
Also, could you make a glossary of terms? A lot of the terminology you used here seems to be different from how it was translated on Gravity Tales, and it can be kind of confusing.
I do have a glossary of my own. I can’t really copy all the terms from the previous translator. It would be best if you can provide the term.
Ok, just as an example:
Cultivation used to be:
Spirit Masters (liquid level)
Golden Core/Pill level
Ranks of Practitioners and most things go like Low Tier, Middle Tier, High Tier, Elite Tier
Just for a future reference kind of thing, what would you prefer regarding these kinds of differences? Just drop a comment like “liquid/Spirit Masters = Condensate Realm”? Or would you prefer it not being mentioned?
This is, after all, your translation, and you’re giving it to us without making us pay for it, so I don’t want to be rude or ungrateful.
Thanks, I will put Spirit Apostle and Spirit Master in my glossary. But for the liquid level, I will still be using Condensation Period as the author used two different terms for Spirit Master and Condensation Period. For items, level, I have inferior grade (Low Tier), intermediate grade (Middle Tier), etc. I’m not sure what’s the practitioner rank tho. Is it like the early stage, later stage that I used?
For Golden Core, I believe its a term from mtl 🤔, so I think not gonna use it.
I realize this comes pretty late, but what about Tian Ling Mai/ San Ling Mai being translated as Heaveanly/ Three Spiritual Pulse(s)? These terms sound like pretty good direct translations.
Not sure if you have a new term for them in the coming chapters. You can ignore this comment if there are. Thank you for your work!
If the terms can be translated, I will translate it. Only those that I can’t translate I will use direct translation, but still thanks for the suggestions.
This translation is better, those previous 20 chapters were very hard to read and understand
Yours is way better!!
